Wear this so you die less! But for real, most classes in this game wear armor of some form, here are those deets. Your Armor Class, or AC, is the number enemies have to beat in order to hit you, and is by default 10 + your vim modifier. Wearing armor will almost always be a better option than that. One can only wear armor that they’re proficient with, and the three types, light, medium, and heavy, all have their own quirks. Light is the weakest of the bunch, but also some of the most commonly employed. Medium is better in most cases, but is, obviously, rather middle-of the road statwise. Heavy has the highest boost to your Armor Class, but is all classified as noisy, and is fairly costly.
All armor is also either Quiet or Noisy. Armor being Noisy simply means that it’s harder to go unnoticed while wearing it.
